Developer Update #2 Mortuayr Assistant Development Update

Development has been going smoothly for The Mortuary Assistant. If you have been hanging out in the daily dev streams over on Twitch, you have seen a good deal of what has been getting done.

Mainly, I have been working on a lot of the back bone of the game. Systems that don’t appear to do much on the surface but are hubs for all the vents that will be taking place within the game. I’m very excited for where I’m at currently as the real fun will start soon!

The Embalming Process

One of the things that most players of the prototype were intrigued by was the embalming process. The main loop during the game will be the processing of 3 bodies where the player will be handling the preparation and embalming.

Obviously, I have taken many liberties with this process as I want it to stay fun and engaging but I am working hard to maintain the spirit of the process while focusing on the game’s direction as a whole.

I have stood up the base framework for the entire process and am now drilling deeper into it. This will be one of the primary duties of the player so I want to make sure it feels engaging.

New Bodies!

Part of the workload for myself has been finding way to keep things moving quickly. I’ve adopted a new set of tools for creating character models that will allow me to create them at a higher quality faster. I would love to have more than 3 bodies available in the launch of MA so I’m working hard to make sure that can happen.
