A lot has changed since the early prototype. I've been working for about a year on new systems, story, and all sorts of neat stuff! This demo is a teaser of those systems and hints of the deeper experience to come in The Mortuary Assistant in Spring 2022!
About The Mortuary Assistant
Having completed your degree in mortuary sciences, you have taken on an apprenticeship at River Fields Mortuary. Over the past several months you have logged many hours aiding the Mortician in daily tasks along with learning the ins and outs of the embalming process as well as how to properly handle and care for the deceased.
Over your time at River Fields, you have heard rumors of families bringing their deceased loved ones believed to be possessed or otherwise entangled with the paranormal to this specific mortuary to put to rest. But, with such a stigma around death and what happens when we die, it’s no surprise people make up stories around the dead.
Late one night, you are called into work to handle some embalmings. Death doesn’t keep day time hours. But there is something different about these bodies because there is something different about you. The phone rings with the Mortician on the other end. The rumors are true, and you can not leave.
Perform embalmings, handle the various jobs around the mortuary, and exorcise demonic forces. All in a day’s work.
THE DEMO
The downloadable demo is currently a short prototype of the game. It focuses mainly on the atmosphere and concept of the project. I hope to release a more in-depth demo in the future as the project continues.

I really enjoy this game on every replay, each shift and jump scares are full of surprises. I've played other Xmas horrors and indies in general on my channel!This game is wonderful and quite a stunning piece of craftmanship, patience and artistry. I wonder did you use Unity HDRP or is this all the build in pipeline?
This teaser demo was FANTASTIC! If you're looking for a spooky game this spooky season, highly recommend! Will definitely be buying the full game :D

So unbelievably terrifying! A game mastered in the art of horror! This game will evacuate your bowels, make your eyelashes crinkle into dust, and cause your latent siamese twin to finally emerge from your back due to the fear your body will experience! Great Game!

Played the demo a year ago and I've been anticipating the full release ever since. DSDev (who is a single dev) has done an amazing job of making a unique, fun, and scary horror experience.
This game is absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend purchasing the full release on steam. It has quite a bit of replay value because of multiple endings and many random scares. The voice acting is also top-notch.
